Our Story

Sweet Pillar & Co grew out of Middle Eastern traditions combined with my special touch. My tete (an endearing term for Grandmother) was an exceptional baker famous in her hometown. Tete made cookies and truffles for special occasions or whenever I would come and visit because she knew how much I loved them. She gave me her recipe which has been handed down to her from her grandmother.

Whenever a relative would visit me in Los Angeles, she would pack some of famous pastries in a box for me.

Recently, as we were going through my late grandmothers kitchen supplies I found her cookie molds. It was as if she was with us again, in the kitchen, laughing, joking, and baking her famous treats. It was then that I decided to let our family tradition live on by sharing with you my tetes recipe and a piece of Damascus.

"Sweet Pillar & Co's goal is to give you a taste of the Middle East. Whether you've been to that part of the world or not, we want to refresh old memories and create new experiences. We want to share the holidays with your friends and families, we want to be at the breakfast table on those Sunday mornings. With each bite of our wide array of confections and cookies we want you to leave with a smile on your face."
